Hunter S. Thompson also briefly appeared at one of the acid tests in EKAAT, and mentioned it briefly in his first book, Hells Angels.Originally posted by The King View PostInteresting coincidence about Acid Test and Cuckoo's Nest is the former is about Ken Kesey (among others) and the latter was authored by Ken Kesey.
One of my favorites from much more recent times is Lone Survivor.

To be honest I couldn't name a single one of the Merry Pranksters other than Ken Kesey from memory now, although it was the late 70's or early 80's when I read the book. For some odd reason I do remember however that Owlsley was their chemist and their bus was named Further or Furthur.Originally posted by talisman View PostHunter S. I'm having a hard time making my list because of all the great books I've read, but your top two are in my top five for sure. There is at least one in my top five by Iain M. Banks, if not two.Originally posted by davbrucas View Post1. Foundation Trilogy
2. Ender's Game
3. Great and Secret Show/Weaveworld (tie)
4. Dark Tower series
5. Fahrenheit 451
Yes, I like sci-fi.
