Interim, that's right. What was going on though is the on-site contract officer wanted to be stricter on the matter and he made those rules. Basically the SoW said -cleared- employees but they were hard to come by.

So my company and him butted heads, but at the end of the day he can make it more strict and our contract said specifically cleared employees. We lost a fair amount after they were fully checked. Nothing heinous, mainly credit problems. It was IT work after the IT bust, so a lot of people got crap credit due to missed payments. One of them was a good buddy of mine.

This kind of work attracts a lot of scumbags. For nearly 7 years KBR was able to get away with using a 3rd party background check who were pin whipping them. In 2010, the government forced the contract back at us and said "all US Expats will complete an SF85 NACI background". That is just a little less detailed than the SF86 which is for a clearance. I went from Afghanistan to Iraq to fulfill that direction. After I completed packets for 530 Expats I took the job I have now. I heard that the packets I worked up until the last minute to get ready, sat in my old office in DHL boxes for a year. KBR decided to pay the CAR instead of paying the NACI process. lol I bet half of those folks would have failed had we turned them in to Rock Island for review. Felons, credit, multiple similar aliases etc. etc.

Navy Yard Shooting: Capitol Police tactical team called back to Hill

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- WUSA9 has learned that a Capitol Police tactical team was prepared to enter the Navy Yard to stop Aaron Alexis -- and was ordered back to the Capitol by a watch commander.

The team was in contact with Metropolitan Police, who were pleading for help, but was turned around by a Capitol Police inspector.

Two MPD officers went in without the team, and one of the officers was shot.

Capitol Police just issued a statement saying:

"The USCP offered and provided mutual support and assistance at the Washington Navy Yard on Monday. Chief Kim Dine has opened a preliminary investigation into the allegations presented."

Members of the team are furious. They are convinced they could have saved lives.

The Capitol Police CERT team is based just a few blocks from the Navy Yard. A law enforcement source says they were less than 30 seconds from the gate when the initial call went out for an active shooter.

One angry officer tells WUSA9 that the Capitol Police chief calls them "America's Police Force." But he says the watch commander "wouldn't let them go in and stop people from being slaughtered."

What a cluster fuck. And as shady as this administration is, you have to question every motive. I wonder how hardcore their tactical response team feels today. Train, Train, puff up chest........told to stand down when you are needed.

I think the meds can actually cause this kind of episode which is why people on that shit need no access to guns. This mans family failed and so did law enforcement to act when they noticed something was wrong. The phsych meds and gun access are deadly combo's as we have seen it a bunch of times now. I actually feel there should be a database so that people taking this crap cannot buy a gun

The government is working on the exact thing you describe: The disarmament of any citizen that it chooses to see as mentally unfit to possess a weapon. The problem of that, is WHO is able to assess the mental illness, and WHAT that mental illness is. The DSM-V now lists anything you can think of as a mental illness, up to and including a diagnosis for people who are unsociable. You can be labeled mentally ill for not accepting the social norms or being outside of what someone considers as socially normal. And who determines what is socially normal? That's right, the government. THAT is the slippery slope made out of Teflon covered in KY Jelly and gooseshit.
