I used to know a couple: Tracy and Sam. Tracy the guy and Sam the girl (Samantha, fwiw, but everyone called her Sam). Always though that was funny.

I dated a Sam(antha) in H.S. which was kind of confusing when we were together and someone called out Sam.

I have a customer named Shelley.

My first name is Shelley. I have grown to accept it and embrace in my 31 years on this earth. But, it sucked really bad from about age 8 until about 15 to hear them call it the first day of class. I've always gone by Trey.


Edit: I can count on one hand the number of times my folks have called me Shelley. Most of my good friends call me that for the humor and have for years. I stopped the name with my son.

Kelly is one I've heard before

I had to go look up the history to be sure, but Kelly was originally a boys only name. It is the Anglicised version of Irish name Ceallach which means "decendent of Ceallach". It also means Warrior or Fighter.

But then my oldest sister's name is Kelly. She's a paramedic in Panama City. Interestingly enough I have witnessed her kicking some ass a few times. Notably mine..
