I would look further up 183 from Loop 1 (MoPac).Originally posted by roliath View Post183/290 or hwy1/183 that general area.
Um, no. Hipsters suck, especially in Austin, but they aren't the problem in that area. They really aren't the problem unless you're in central Austin.Originally posted by racrguy View PostHipsters and other undesirables.
Originally posted by jdgregory84 View PostNot sure about hipsters. I lived in North Austin back in 2006 and delivered pizzas all around the area. East of Lamar was "ghetto" as hell. Might also wanna check the Balcones Woods area. Pretty nice as well but probably a little more expensive.
The basic breakdown is East= black, SE= black/Hispanic, South= Hispanic/White, SW= pseudo-rich white people, W= overpriced white neighborhoods that actually have money, and are building apartments that hipsters pay out the ass to fit into, N= burbs of all colors that you should avoid.

Up by 183 is still considered downtown?Originally posted by jdgregory84 View PostI think that's more East of Downtown Austin. Which for beer drinkin has actually become a lot better than West 6th.
Yea, it's mostly near downtown, but the hipsters are buying anywhere it's cheap and gaying all the neighborhoods up. That in turn is driving out the garbage.
My wife works with several that have purchased in some shady-as-hell neighborhoods and have raised the property values by making the neighbors afraid other people will think they're gay and moving away.Scientists do not coddle ideas. They crash test them. They run them into a brick wall at 60 miles per hour and then examine the pieces.
If the idea is sound, the pieces will be that of the wall.

At least those fuckers are good for something. SW Austin has a lot more asians and indians than mexicans.Originally posted by Maddhattter View PostUp by 183 is still considered downtown?

Gay people are good about turning really bad areas into nice, but ritzy areas. Houston is a great example, (Montrose, Midtown/Gray, 4th Ward, Eastwood, Washington Ave)Originally posted by Maddhattter View PostUp by 183 is still considered downtown?

We lived in Hyde Park when we were there and loved it. The Triangle wasn't too far away, had a few friends that lived there, and it was pretty nice back then (2008-2010). I don't know how it is now.Originally posted by davbrucasI want to like Slow99 since people I know say he's a good guy, but just about everything he posts is condescending and passive aggressive.
Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?
You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

The Triangle on Guadalupe? I have a friend who lives there. He's paying almost $1,400 for a tiny efficiency.Originally posted by slow99 View PostWe lived in Hyde Park when we were there and loved it.
