Wife on unemployment, have a question

Perfectly legit.

You can't sit on your ass collecting unemployment when there are jobs out there waiting to be filled. The state requires that you go on a certain number of interviews or you don't collect the unemployment check.

Should we pay everyone to sit around while they wait for their dream job to magically appear?

if the recruiter is not from the TWC which I have never heard of them using recruiters, the recruiter cant force her to take any job. They just want a cut of getting somebody a job. All his wife has to do is APPLY to a minimum of 5 jobs per week. She then has to keep track of those places she applies to in case the TWC want's to verify.

Now, surely she could take a job for lower wage and continue a job search for something she would enjoy more or pay better .

Why would anyone encourage a wife or husband to not work is beyond me?

I don't know too many people that in the last 2 to 2 1/2 years that have not been asked to take a reduction in pay and or look for a new job ..

I would roughly say at least 50% of everyone I know have .

You can look for a job while working , no reason you can't do that .

And, just where is all this unemployement money is coming from ? There isn't some magic account somewhere.. They have fought over extending benefits several times already

When I worked in a hiring position people would give me some paper thing all the time to sign saying that they came looking for work. Most of the time it was nasty unshaven, ratty clothed people that I knew were not actually looking for a job, but just needed some kinda "proof" they were looking for a job.

kinda fugged up setup imho
