Just got my leave approved. I leave Afg on Dec 26 and will be home in DFW on Dec 27. Then I am off with no plans but to sit around the house with my daughter, work on my car, hit up the gun ranges. Don't have to be back to work until Jan 16th.

Ya, and it is harder than you think, if you're truly trying to apply to relevant positions.

Tell me more. I may be getting either promoted or laid off after the first of the year.

I have to keep a log of which places I apply, the position applied for and contact info for that place. Report over the phone every other Monday and wait for my debit card to get two weeks' worth of $454/wk.

Funny thing is, I looked back at my logs and just realized how many places I applied. I'm talking positions within my field, grade, quals, pay, etc. It's been a lot.

Wow, talk about a humbling experience.

You can still do that, but with 5; if you're not really trying to find a job.

I've taken one vacation day all year so I'm taking Friday and all next week off. HP has a manditory shutdown at the end of the year, so that takes care of another 5 vacation days. Now I need to burn 4 more sometime after Dec 13.
