Hah, it should appear on your desktop. I have an Air for work, and that thing is so bad ass. Favorite computer I've ever had.

If you do command-shift-4, it will let you choose which part of the screen to use so you don't have to crop it in another program.

That's 5 steps. Instead, I:

1. Took picture.
2. Loaded picture onto computer from phone.

Besides, I love my little MacBook Air. Best computer I've ever owned, hands down. The few times I've had a problem, I've actually been able to fix it myself instead of going and buying a new one. It is getting up there in age though.
