Cleburne Sheet Metal is his company, well it goes by both names. They have apparently taken down their website since this has gone viral. He is a big commercial roofing company. He does about 20 mil a year in metal roofing. Guy makes bank I promise you.

    Here is the suit petition

    1. Maria Lemus and Sergio Molina, individually and as next friends of their minor child Sergio E. Molina, filed a lawsuit seeking over $1 million in damages against Cleburne Metal Works LLC, Fred Couch, Tonya Couch, and Ethan Couch related to a catastrophic car accident. 2. On June 15, 2013, 16-year-old Ethan Couch was driving a truck owned by Cleburne Metal Works while intoxicated and speeding, losing control of the vehicle and killing 4 people and injuring 9 others including Sergio E. Molina. 3. The plaintiffs allege Ethan Couch's intoxicated and reckless driving were the sole causes of the accident and are

If he got jail time, he would have done a year or two max.

If he fucks up once in ten years, they can throw the book at him. Happened to a kid my little brother grew up with. He was on 10yrs probation... violated about 6yrs in, and he's doing time in Huntsville now.

Two people who were riding in the bed of Couch's truck were among the nine injured in the crash. One of them, Sergio Molina, was rendered comatose after the crash and is now paralyzed. His parents are now suing the teen, his parents and their family business - Cleburne Metal Works - for $20 million.

In their complaint, the Molinas point out that Couch had a history of arrests, including one where he pleaded no contest to charges of possessing and drinking alcohol. The court date for that plea took place just three months before the fatal crash.

My comment was directed to his about the sentencing. He mentioned the sentence being 2-20 years, that he has an issue with the people that are automatically mentioning the max, I was reminding him that there were many other crimes committed that night by the kid, and that the total of all sentencing had he been given the maximum for EVERYTHING it would have far exceeded 20 years.

And I agree, it has nothing to do with the suing of his parents.

I never said it would be easy. I never got into any of that. I just said that since he is a minor his parents are still financially responsible which a lawyer has pointed out they are. I never said it wouldn't be a pain in the ass and take years to resolve, that was never said.

Given that the defendant stole the beer that directly played a role in the commission of his crime from a Walmart store, I would not be surprised at all to see Walmart named as a co-defendant in the civil lawsuits due to "negligence".

Shitty situation on all sides. Kid is probably a little fuck and is walking away feeling like he got away with it. Hopefully the shit has remorse and is haunted by the lives he took.

Now for what its worth I know first hand how intox manslaughter plays out.

One of my best friends sister was the least drunk of the bunch that went out one night so she was volunteered as the driver. They left speeds on Garland Rd. and made it just to the other side of White Rock Lake, she passed out and hit a tree killing her best friend. It was her first offense, she was given 10 years probation.
Differences in these cases is her friend made the choice to risk his own life by riding in that car, the four that died that night did not.

I have another friend whose cousin made a bad habit of collecting DWIs. He was a decent old boy, just let alcohol get over on him. He was a hard worker, busted his ass every day. Would do anything for you. At night he would get shit faced drunk. Every night. He was on his 3rd or 4th DWI when he left a bar on Memorial Day (I believe). He rear ended a car stopped at a red light at an estimated 90mph, instantly killing the mother, father, and one of the kids. The youngest in the car survived.
He was sentenced to 25 years in prision. Although a friend HE deserved every bit of that sentence.

He wasn't just driving drunk and killed four people, he was on a crime spree. It wasn't his first crime spree, either.
