    Yes, that is correct.

As far as avoiding the USPS handoff, ask the shipper if they are a "sure-post" account. If they are, ask for a premium service (3 day or better) or don't order from that company

Certain hubs you can pick up such as at the Arlington hub. If you go online and sign up with MyChoice or call it in you can usually have it held for pickup at the hub. Some packages have sender restrictions on them not allowing them to be picked up in which case you need to contact the sender and have them lift the restriction, it can be a pain.

After the ice storm combined with the holidays UPS is waaay behind. I was talking to one of my distributors and they told me UPS had to fly in 1,000 employees into the Mesquite hub to catch up. When I just shipped some packages at the UPS hub in Arlington they had a cop hired to regulate, apparently people have been getting unruly about the delays...

We haven't seen delays on our FedEx parts at the office except for 1 where they tried to deliver at 945pm last friday night. Long after everyone was gone.

Having them deliver my shit after paying more to avoid them chaps my ass.

Go directly to their authorized ship centers.

I had a package with Fed-ex take 4 days to go from Irving to Coppell. Then another two days to go from Coppell to Denton to be delivered.

I've had a package sitting on a trailer at the hub in Mesquite since the 17th

    This.

After a weather delay, especially during peak, you just asshole and elbow everything into any truck that runs with a driver that has a pulse just to get it out.
