Unlike the light weight mustang claims, looks like Ford lived up to the 700lbs mark... <5,000lbs on a lariat 4x4 is pretty damn impressive

The new 2.7L doesn't sound like a bad option:

Yea, Josh did the deal for me on my 2012 F150. He did a fantastic job and the lady in their finance dept actually helped me plan out my financing so I would get another $1000 from Ford credit and still get the great interest rate my Credit Union was offering. I guess Skip was the glue that held it together.

I have been getting shit service from them trying to simply get a trade in value on a 2012 platinum with 6000miles. Service has changed a bunch in a year.

Yeah I have made several inquiries about a couple of Vettes to no response over the last couple of months. I finally called Josh the other day and he said he would get me pictures and a good price of a 2005 that's was on there no pics the other day. Never heard back. I texted him about three days ago and no response. I am trying to keep my buying price under 20k and the Vette is only 21500 but hell no response. I took a buddy up there a month ago and he did him right on a new Edge so I am torn but Skip was still there. Hell I don't need another car anyways so maybe he is trying to help me.

Then when it bit them, they chose to fuck me rather then own up to it.

Dang. That's no good. I assume you mentioned to them they went and put it back on the lot? lol

I assume things have changed.....when I was a dealership mechanic (in the 90's), I used to do Pre-owned inspections and they took that shit very serious back then. If we were ever to put one through and missed something obvious, it was your ass. I remember when a guy got fired for flat-rating one of those pre-owned inspections....and it was just a leak and some worn brakes on that one.

I'd buy the nearest billboard space to their lot just to give them the finger.
Really fucking horseshit that they're doing that with a CPO. I've bought Acura/Toyota CPOs and it's the same damned coverage as a new vehicle.

I hope this is just a blip on the radar and not a sign of Grapevine Ford's decline since Skip's departure. I need someone to make me a good deal on a 2015 Mustang GT.

Initially b/c I couldn't touch the same truck brand new even with the rebates and such. It was a pretty hard loaded 4x4 King Ranch, and I got in it for a little over $46K...it stickered at $62K when it was new. I always set a limit on myself for how much I will finance b/c I hate owing on them and prefer to payoff as quick as possible, so I was also trying to stay in range where I felt comfortable putting half down on it. Something else they gave me a hard time on....apparently they don't make out as well when you put a lot down. I almost walked out on them frustrated after they came back to me several times trying to actually get me to put less down. I've never seen that before.

In the end I decided that a Super Duty was overkill though, and I did end up in a brand new 13' F150....got in it for almost $13K off of sticker after all of the rebates.

Which BTW - I'm REALLY pleased with the F150 now....just wish I had gone in and made a deal on it first instead of that damned SD. Plenty of hard lessons learned on this one.

I agree with you man. It was a really nice looking truck, but I'll admit I probably should have put it under a microscope, and I didn't. I had kind of thought I didn't really need to since this dealer had done good for me always in the past...but that again was a BAD assumption on my part.

The truck had a lot of noise coming out of both drivers side doors, and real excessive wind noise from the windshield, which the first time I drove it in the rain (about a week later) also turned out to leak water on the top and bottom corners on the drivers side. The final straw was when it death wobbled on me on the hwy, and I damned near lost it...all the way across 2 lanes and into the grass before I got it slowed. Scared the shit out of all of us, and my wife and daughter refused to ride in it after that....I've never felt anything death wobble that bad.

I have a buddy who owns a very reputable body shop...he and one of his guys looked it over really close, and he came back and told me he was almost certain that the truck had been on it's drivers side at some point...probably offroad in grass or something, but fairly certain it had been turned over on it's side. The bed and both drivers side doors had been off of the truck at some point. However Carfax and Oasis was clean....but that really doesn't mean shit if someone paid out of pocket to fix it. Who knows.

What I know is that after spending close to $50K on it, they should have made it right, and they made no effort to whatsoever.

What's more funny is that they put that truck back on their lot....so they are ready and willing to fuck the next guy too.

I'm curious, why didn't you go the brand new route? The incentives/rebates on these trucks are huge and you can re-finance at a much lower rate right after you drive off the lot with no penalty.
