I thought Pirate made it through without much problems. Dfwstangs is the only site I have seen that abondoned after the buy. Alos, I dont see why we make forums to cater to these sites members that get bought. They need to assimilate to us or dont come here in my opinion.

I do find it a bit depressing that these sites are being bought up by coporates, but I can understand making 15K and not having the hassel anymore. As far as the sites Im on, which is not very many, this is the only one thats still a private site.

I've got a childhood friend that established a business model around corporate buyouts. He builds one, undercuts the larger competition and subsidizes the loss with personal cash. Within 2-3 years (this was a while ago, it may be sooner now), he gets approached to sell, by the same company, recovers all cash, makes his money, does the same thing again in another location.

15k is a little low - I've heard some of the bigger sites getting ridiculous offers
