When I think of 10 + year old, sub 5k European luxury car, I see a dash with more lights than a Christmas tree. Have fun with that.

I owned a Lincoln LS for about 22 months. When it was totaled by hail damage I was ecstatic - plus, my insurance check was $800 less than I paid for it.

I don't think it's that they're unreliable; I think that it's that something is going to break eventually, and it isn't going to be cheap.

It was about 8 years old when I traded it in. It had a couple of coolant system malfunctions with the same part and a water pump. Both repairs were reasonable, and not unexpected for a car with 100k by the time I got rid of it.

That car is ugly as fuck.

I'm just tired of repeating myself. I say I only want an auto. Someone offers to sell me their car that has a manual. I say I'm looking for a luxury car. People start talking about pick up trucks. I'm talking about my 7 series that I owned for 2 years that was reliable, people tell me not to buy one because they aren't reliable. I'm not cranky, I've had my limit of stupidity for one day.

I never heard anything good about them, but always liked how they looked.

Mine had barely 20K miles when I bought it - I put another 20K miles on it. During that 20K miles - I replaced all 6 coils, valvecover gaskets twice, RF power window regulator, and when it was totaled, the AC was starting to get a little weak.
