    Last forever and most turbocharged ones will shit on a SC'd s62. The power potential and reliability is what does it for me. Most of the pre 04-05ish bmw v8s have had nikasil sleeve problems and other issues like valley pans and weird leaks. A 528 with a used VF SC is cheap and will net over 300whp reliably.

    Here is another few. Main issue is that the sellers don't even know what their own cars are called, Touring > Wagon.





    And an e46 touring, don't see those much.

    540i Wagons are proving not only hard to find, but outrageously priced, I assume due to their small production numbers. I've looked at a ton of options. In fact, I don't think I've ever searched so hard for an acceptable car. It's looking like a 2001 E38 Sport is going to be the way to go. They've gotten so cheap that if something big fails, I'll just throw it away and buy another, or keep 1 as a parts car for when something on the other one breaks. I did love my old one but never could get used to the dull grey interior color.
