As a parent I will kill anyone fucking with my kids and sleep well in prison regardless of the laws. If I provide the one warning and that kid does anything but haul ass, my anger level will escalate...

I know not everyone has had this advantage, but I grew up in places where you could get shot for this and daughters/kids knew it. Also, getting shot for trespassing - yeah it may go to cops but everyone would side with the property owner.

Even at 16/17 years old, kids are smart enough to know how bad they are messing up. To me the differentiating factor between what I did and what is going on here is the 0200 aspect. Even the after school hook-ups, I'd run like a son of bitch if I even heard a car on a gravel driveway a mile away - cause I knew anything could happen. (Honestly, it made it that much more fun)

At 0200 - I personally never even consider it and am not aware of anyone in those areas who would consider it.

I understand it seems very severe and I probably would've sided with you before being a parent. Post parent - there is pissed off and there is the pissed off you get for protecting the kids. Messing with someone's daughter, at 2 in the morning, in a father's home is the perfect recipe.

You're spot on with all of this. I actually had the luxury of dealing with this type of situation with my oldest. Fortunately for the boy, his mother informed us of what was going on before I was able to catch him in my house. I recall how livid I was when we were given this news. I can't even begin to fathom what state I would be in if I walked in and found an intruder in my daughters room.

It definitely has to do with being a parent. These are your kids and you will protect them at all costs...period. My youngest son will definitely understand the risks of sneaking into someone else's house... all boys should know this risk.
