I honestly dont know if either suck! I hear Gilleys sucks after reading this thread and have heard Gas Monkey sucks and is over priced. But never been to either one. So cant pass judgement on either place

I saw Motorhead there. Well actually it was the Palladium Ballroom that night. That was a family friendly show for sure.

So they call it Gilley's for country acts, and Palladium Ballroom for everything else? Is there a third name? I've been to the building twice once it was called Gilley's, the other time it was Palladium.

Live Nation Entertainment, the world’s leading live entertainment and ecommerce company, announces an exclusive booking agreement with Matthews Southwest. Beginning July 2, 2013, the venue will be renamed the South Side Ballroom, and Live Nation will oversee the booking, marketing and promotion of the venue’s concerts.

I think AEG bought the Palladium name rights, and might be doing something over at Lone Star Park.
