I'm seriously considering this route..

I highly recommend it Rick. I've been using a safety razor for nearly 2 years and I haven't looked back. Blades are less expensive and sharper than any razor I've ever bought, on top of getting one of the closest shaves I've ever had.

The key is letting the weight of the razor and the sharpness of the blade do the shaving.

I picked up one of these in December.

I got fed up with paying 18 bucks for 4 razors for my Fusion so I bought one of these and love it. The razors are cheap as fuck and they last for a long time, both sides.

the huggies ass wipes in my experience are the best and all i use

I've heard using anything but the prep-H wipes can give you hemorrhoids. I don't know how true that is, if at all.

I've been thinking about trying a straight razor, but it seems like it would be tough in the goatee facial area. Any of you guys try one?

I've been using a Merkur safety razor for almost 2 years. I've tried several types of blades - Feather, Bluebird, Merkur, Derby, and a few others. I've found that the different blades behave differently on my face. Derby will give me in-grown hairs, Feather gives me razor burn, Merkur is good but more than I want to pay, and Bluebirds are what I use now because I get a decent enough shave and spent a whole $11 for a year's worth of blades.

Wally world use to carry a M5magnum or something like that. Great shave, damn close to the fusion an half the price. But they stopped carrying them

I use a merker safety razor set up and will never go back it is an amazing shave ounce you get past the learning curve.

i use their blades and had to use a cartridge razor in a pinch and i hated it
