Guest repliedOriginally posted by CJ View PostAs being in the business of having borrowers, and having to collect debts, I do understand the practice of having late fees assessed, especially for covering court costs and other collection methods. People don't work for free. Pay your fucking debts or don't use the product. People should not be absolved of their own bad decisions and lack of responsibility. All too often people misdirect the real problem away from themselves by crying fowl on companies and creditors. This woman referenced about is not a innocent victim.
There is nothing worse than a weeping duck, I agree.

And as Eric pointed out, we're heading the way of debtors prisons.

Guest repliedOriginally posted by Ratt View PostI see your point, now. The initial post I quoted seemed like you were referring to the NTTA toll-roads as government operated.
No, I'm well aware they are foreign owned, which is even more infuriating.

Guest repliedOriginally posted by Ratt View PostAhem.
If it were a government owned toll-road, it would probably be cheaper and eventually the tolls are supposed to go away in most cases. Originally toll-roads were supposed to be used to retroactively pay for roads that were being built instead of raising taxes. The NTTA is just a money-grab.
If the government is forcibly mandating me to pay it or face arrest, then I attribute it to the government, regardless of if it is "privately" owned.

Don't like the traffic, MOVE.
You're not correcting me, I've lived in Dallas most of my life, back when 75 was two fucking lanes up the Texas/OK state line, I've driven through all of its major improvements up until they built the Tollways. They move faster than the freeways (wrecks and construction not withstanding) I donlt drive in traffic, my J-O-B is near where I live so I donlt have too, I have been caught in 635 sitting in traffic barley moving and I've been in 35-40 mph hour Tollway traffic and I prefer the latter, even if it costs money to use them and I PAY my way...
