Great Dane

This. I can't stress it enough, Danes make great pets for kids. They are gentle and their energy levels are pretty low after they get out of the puppy phase. Hell even when they are puppies they are fairly calm after the initial "OMG YOUR HOME! LOVE ME! LOVE ME! LOOOOOOVVVVEEEE MEEEEEEEE!" when you come home or let them in from an extend time outside.

My wife and i are trying to decide on a new dog. What do yall have and like/have had good experiences with?

We want a large dog. We have no kids though we plan to eventually. We do have an inside cat. Not looking for something that is crazy energetic. Don't mind walking it once a day and we have a decent sized back yard.
