Adopt a mutt. My lab mix Rascal is the most well behaved dog I have ever seen. He is not even 1 yet and is so calm and good around kids. Great personality. We can go to the vet and there could be 4 or 5 different dogs in the room and he will just lay down in the floor and watch. I'll never buy another purebred again.

too bad, you should have picked up one of the spanish or caucasian variety

Well we picked up a puppy today! While we weren't set on them everything we liked was a mix of it so I've been reading up on everything about great Danes for the past 6 weeks as in going to bed.
Today we picked up this big guy. His name is Axle (Windsor was in the running but when we got there Axle was more appropriate).
He is a Great Dane mix and is only 10 weeks old! A character already, he is going to be an awesome dog!

They are very mellow dogs other wise.

I actually didn't pick her up. We were in the process of getting a home with a yard but it didn't happen. Beautiful dogs though.

KWClutch has one of the litter mates, maybe he can chime in on the temperament of his little girl.
