It helped a bunch when my wife and I were in a rough patch. I hated every minute of it, but it got her to nod her head and realize she is a fucking cunt, so it was worth it.

Yep. I feed the wife certain drinks for certain activities. But I've learned to back off of others because I won't deal with her being a bitch. I'm wise enough to know that nearly all women are that bad or worse, or there are the subservient ones who don't have a spine or brain. And then there are ugly chicks, cheaters, liars, etc. No one is perfect. I am thankful for the good stuff about her, and it outweighs the other stuff.

My wife USED to do this. Over the years I have convinced her that I am ALWAYS right and a genius too. I still have to remind her every now and then; arguing with me is pointless, since she will find out eventually that I was right all along.

This takes time and patience because they aren't sharp enough to get after the first 100x, or they are too proud to admit that we just might actually be putting that bigger brain to work in solving their problems.

My grandparents (who raised me) do that. They have since I can recall and are as happy as they come. I don't think they've slept in the same bed since I've been in this world.

My folks sleep in separate rooms and have for 20 years. I have told my wife that that is not an option for us.

My parents started doing this when they were full time RVing. They bought a house and sleep in different rooms now, but they are also in their mid 70's, and have a few health issues that makes it better for them both to get restful sleep. They've also been married 52 years, so I don't think it is having a negative impact on them.

I have a King size bed that the wife and I have always slept on opposite sides of. We can go entire days without talking unless it involves the kids and it seems to work fairly well but then again, I have the "If you piss me off, I'm driving you to DFW and putting your ass back on a plane until you straighten up."
