Well being that this thing is slammed, the bumper is pretty close to the ground. I heard it hitting a few times this morning, going through the ice. If it gets much deeper, then the bumper will just act like a snow plow lol!Originally posted by Tannerm View PostYa... i woke up today at 3 am (love night work schedule...) and have been up ever since. it started blowing like crazy about 0330 and I just got back from trying to goto Kroger (bored as hell!!). Do your parents still have that thing?Originally posted by tex View PostI didn't read the whole thread, but: My first car at 16 was a '64 Karmann Ghia, in Pennsylvania, and it rocked. I never got stuck, it always had traction, and even though it was light, it never drifted too bad.
Kinda want one...

I've always wanted one. I was just telling Christian the other day that I want to pick one up for my kids first car.Originally posted by tex View PostI didn't read the whole thread, but: My first car at 16 was a '64 Karmann Ghia, in Pennsylvania, and it rocked. It's all experience and perspective, man. At this point, I feel I could take any able bodied vehicle through any common obstacle, but only because of where I learned, with the equipment I learned with, and who taught me.Originally posted by fredfarmer View PostI had an old bug when I was 17 and the roads iced over. We lived on LRH in Heath so I had to go up a hill to get out of the 'hood. I couldn't make it, but again, I was a kid and didn't know how to drive on ice at that point...

Guy before was right. Light car, with all the weight over the drive wheels works wonders.
