First thought that came to mind before watching the video was "why is this range allowing someone this young and inexperienced to fire a gun that is full auto capable and loaded to capacity?" I have no issue with a 9 yr old girl shooting a 9mm or any other type of SEMI-AUTO single shot per trigger pull weapon...but no 9 yr old be it boy or girl should be handed a fully automatic firearm without substantial training. RIP to instructor and prayers for that girl and her family...she and they will be dealing with this for years...maybe decades to come.

I remember seeing an article of a kid shooting a full auto gun. The range had it changed to a certain length to avoid it getting out of control. Had the person keep the gun at length so as to have tension on it. No chance of it getting away.

In Cali (and elsewhere) a lot of the ranges have bungies that clip onto the rentals to stop the barrel of the gun from being pointed anywhere but down range. This mainly due to the number of people that rent and commit suicide in the range.
