Elvis, check the gokart sub forum on buggynews.net for more info than you probably care to know about the old school mower engine carts.

I have a UPC/thump* Chinese bike that is solid as fuck, but it cost just about as much as a name brand rig. I'll echo everyone's sentiments on the Chinese rides, they'll last a little while with light use but are NOT built well.

I cant believe I never died a horrible horrific death on any of mine. Even the 3 wheelers.

x2. Although I did hit the side of a warehouse pretty good one time. The damn thing pulled out in front of me.

We had a 185 and a 250 Big Red. Those things have been wrecked 100 times each, at least. Never any serious injury though, and they provided a couple decades worth of fun.

I got caught up in a downed barbed wire fence on a quad-racer that had a cb550 engine. It was a wheelie monster in 4th, but flips if the barb wire grabs the front tires.

I also lost brakes on my 3 wheeler, had to roll it. I rolled it a few different times.

Roger that, but kids today < kids then.

Or more specifically the parents. They buy a Polaris 50 as a baby sitter and it ends up biting the kid.

My son races a motorcycle and I feel confident that he can be trusted, because he's shown me he can be. He knows his comfort level, and he knows when the bike can bite him in the ass - and it has. He is at the point where he needs to step up to a bigger/faster bike and he understands the reality of it all.

As far as 3 wheelers go- I had to have my tongue stitched back together/partially reattached, because death traps and fuck helmets.

No snake tongue option? You're dead to me.

I was 6. In hindsight, I should have had the doctor add an 9" extension.

I had a suzuki LT125 when I was 8 or 9. It was the perfect quad for a kid, no shocks so you couldn't go very fast, pull starter, so I usually needed an adult to get it going for me, and it was unkillable.

Honda trx90. Clutchless 4 speed. Has throttle screw to limit travel of thumb lever. Great for kids starting out in my opinion.
