Oh, and we both need new laptops. Mine died a month or two ago, hers just started acting up, so will probably be getting those in January. I've been trying to make it work with an iPad, but really don't care for it as my only option.

No real single "big ticket" items this year. The largest single gift was less than $200 (a couple in that range for the kids). Leah and I decided to keep our gifts to one another small this year, since we're doing a 5 day San Francisco, Napa Valley, Concert trip in 3 weeks. We've probably got $1,500 tied up in that already, between air, board and tickets, so that was our main gift to one another this year.

Now, you did say "this year", so in that regard we did by Lea's son a car for about $4k.

When I first read this I glazed over the dollar amount and just read that you were replacing a Scion with a Taurus. I thought " How is he replacing a car with a gun? And for fuck's sake, why a Taurus?"
