The supercrew 4x4 ecoboost trucks struggle to get 14-15... 5.0 seems to do much better real world.

My 13 is a 4x4 s-crew, I get 15.3 in the city (we live in a very hilly area in VA) on my drive to/from work -which is only 7-8 miles - and mid 18s when I get on flat land at 65ish.

I'm sure you will still be able to buy an alternative fuel like 100% ethanol or even E85. Older cars like your 57 Chevy would need a conversion kit but it would be doable. Heck, now that I think of it, a Natural Gas or methane conversion would be even more doable for very old cars. You wouldn't get the power of gasoline but perhaps the real concern should be to just keep these old cars around. Besides, their will be hella fast electric cars to satisfy a need for speed.

There are already fast electrics, they just cost $80k and up...Tesla S.

Considering that engine is not used in any gm trucks.. yes. My dad has a new direct injected gm, my ecoboost is way faster and they get the same mileage.

That isn't what I said, and options are different than special orders, and you already do pay more for larger engines basically regardless of platform. Again option does not equal special order, and limited offering/special edition does not equal special order. You're not going to go to a Ford dealership and ask for an engine that isn't offered for a given model year, and get it. Sure, there are dealerships that specifically have contracts with custom shops to do off the wall shit, but you're not going to get that directly from Ford.
