My first phone call would be to a traffic attorney. Tell them your situation and allow them guide your through the process of taking care of this. It's well worth the money to talk to an attorney before you make any further attempts at calling any Law Enforcement agency. Might save you a lot of grief. I got a letter from Coppell one time informing me of a warrant I had for a FTP on a speeding ticket. I didn't fail to appear, it was a clerical/filing/date change of venue issue or some mixed up BS, so I called this guy http://www.randallscottattorney.com/rs.html and the situation was resolved by the end of the business day.
