And if it is so hard and expensive to get out of and such a big risk to your livelihood, then again why risk speeding? The immediate solution would be to not speed. Maybe a better goal would be to petition the legislature for a change to the law and make all classes of drivers licenses equal when it comes to violations, points, settlements of fine, charges etc? I don't agree with cdl holders having stricter regulations on BAC; I think it should all be equal be it 0%, .04%, .08% or whatever. But the current law is pretty clear yet I still see cdl drivers drink and drive and then complain about the regs. Well no one forced you to do it and if you are that worried about it affecting your job maybe don't do it. No, that won't stand and I am an asshole for bringing that bit of common sense up.
The OP wasn't complaining about it, he was just asking for a recommendation.

It's not that way in every state. It's just insanely hard to change laws in Texas.

Of course I have, but I own up to it and accept the consequences. The exception to that is one time they wrote a bunch of us for violating a policy that was not written down in the employee handbook, nor was it verbally announced. They basically made it up after the fact and that I fought them on.

I got written up once at work. I threw a shit fit because they didn't down grade it to be greater than 15 minutes late instead of just not showing up.

Every year you have to disclose any tickets you have received. Most employers dont like any thing that can cost them, insurance, legal actions from a accident.
Points can cost you your Job and any chance of working for any one worth working for.
My last one was my first in 20+ years. I would have paid 1k to make it go away.
You never know whats going to happen tomorrow.
