I raised her from a pup, she was my responsibility and my friend. She caused a stampede that was dangerous for the cattle and her and there was the possibility of loss of cattle and destruction of fencing and cattle on a roadway is a hazard for people. My pet, my responsibility.I wear a Fez. Fez-es are cool

So you wanted me to take my pet to a shelter where she'd be locked up until they gave her the needle, to die alone? No. Her death was instant. One round as she ran. She never knew what happened and I informed the rancher what happened and apologized for her over there.Originally posted by Magnus View PostI just think he should have taken his dog to a city rescue, made them aware of why he was bringing it there, and move on.
When the first thought was to kill his own dog, that says something about the person.
Frost has shown many times the extremes he thinks of, and this is just another example of that. He's mental.

1. You're under the impression that there is a shelter within 20 miles of meOriginally posted by Magnus View PostIf that's what you're taking away from my posts, you're kind of proving my point about only thinking in extremes.
2. You're under the impression they'd take her
3. You're under the impression someone would take a year old wolf pup and take her home to live running free and having fun
4. You're under the impression I didn't weigh everything before I pulled the trigger. I am always 100% certain of what I'm doing when I pick up a rifle.I wear a Fez. Fez-es are cool

Wrong. You're clearly unfamiliar with the way things go out in the rural areas. There are many, many farmers who have had to shoot their own dogs because they would not stop behaviors that are destructive to livestock. One lives right next door to my inlaws. His gaggle of stupid dogs got over there and killed a calf. He killed all 4 dogs and bought the calf. It was $1,200.Originally posted by Magnus View PostI just think he should have taken his dog to a city rescue, made them aware of why he was bringing it there, and move on.

Its commonplace. If this tells you anything about the seriousness of the issue, theft of livestock is a felony in Texas. People take dumb dogs killing their livestock just as seriously.WH

And multiply that by almost 100 and the fencing and if they get into the highway and someone hits them? Immediate action is required.Originally posted by Gasser64 View PostWrong. Just a quick search...
Welcome to the home of Texas Wolfdog Project, the number one source for finding information about wolfdogs: education, adoption, fostering, and even meeting these wonderful creatures.
I understand why he did it, and believe frost fully believes himself. But that's also why I agree with magnus that he's not all right up there. Its not just this isolated case...but a lot of things

2. Frost already tried without success.
3. Yes, someone would. When you don't try, how do you know?
4. I believe you may have thought of other things, but like usual, you expected the absolute worst of everything.
I feel safer knowing he's that far away.Originally posted by Sean88gt View PostGoogle "Cooper, TX"sigpic

I'm aware of that, but there wasn't even an attempt made.Originally posted by Sean88gt View PostI'm just pointing out, things get handled differently in the country.
Where was the post on here to try and rehome? Who did he reach out to for rehoming? None.
He just went straight to shooting his dog, without even making an attempt.
Frost is operating in a different universe.sigpic

Right. You believe I should have tried rehoming. Cool. How do you propose I catch her when she's in full pursuit mode? You explain how your idea works to me, keeping in mind I have to climb a 5 strand barbed wire fence, cross about 10 acres and intercept her while avoiding the stampede, all the while moving with a cane.

Drives me crazy when people dump strays out here. I had to replant my flower garden when someone dropped a stray off. She was so thin and hungry so I fed her, then that turned into 2 weeks and then she had a litter of 12 puppies so I couldn't just dump them somewhere so that was another 8 weeks of caring for my two and another 13 until I could find all of them homes and THEN I found her a good home.Originally posted by Sean88gt View PostGoogle "Cooper, TX"

According to the Prius driving hippy that came to get her (the stray that came to my house), she was going to be trained to help find people under rubble. Smart dog, went mental with grasshoppers.
I don't kill everything and as a matter of fact, it bothers me intensely to do so if there is any other option. I have a pair of armadillos that run my yard as evidence. Shooting my own dog was hard but had to be done. Now what is going to kill me is when my Cocker Spaniel finally passes. He's 13 and going blind and hard of hearing. My best friend though.I wear a Fez. Fez-es are cool
