Sorry for your loss man, lost my shadow last month and I still tear up with a quickness with just one thought of her, it was untimely. I miss her so much but I know we enriched each other's lives and she went peacefully. Kind words from others and remembering the good times helps a lot.

So sorry to hear that, man. It's the most gut-wrenching thing I have ever been through, myself. The good times make it worth it overall, but just barely. We lost Clutch last April, and it still gets me at times.

First, I'm very sorry for your loss. In my 39 years of life, I've never not had a dog. I have three now. They are the ultimate family companions.

I never understood the logic behind not wanting to get another. Don't let some temporary sadness cloud the 14 years of joy your dog brought you.

I agree with SS Junk, get another, the sooner the better. That's the way I've always done it. Like he said, it's not replacing or disrespecting the old dog at all. It's saying having a dog was such a pleasure that I can't imagine going without one. It's a compliment to your old dog, really.
