I'm kind of curious how bad it was flipped, b/c it's pretty common that these things get flipped over when playing around and never sustain any damage. I flipped my old Polaris a bunch of times, as did others who rode it, and I never had any issues with it at all.

did it ingest water through the intake or perhaps run upside down and dry?

I'm guessing they didn't hook up to the dead man tether and it ran upside down for a bit.

Ask if you can borrow it for a bit and take it to a different repair shop and get an estimate and see what they say is wrong with it.

I know on our older ones if you did flip it, it had to be flipped back over a certain direction to keep the water out of the intake.

This. Probably hydro locked the motor and bent some rods.

It won't be if you don't have the time. That's a big boat with a not so great engine. You could pull the engine and replace it with a manual and some time. The only way I would mess with that was if it was really cheap to make it worth it

Meh, I'd pass... PWC are not fun to work on.

If you like bending yourself into a pretzel, scraping all the skin off your elbows, and losing the same nut or bolt in the bottom of the hull 10x times... There will be some money to be made if the electronics are still good. If you just like to tinker.

A motor for that boat with core is about 2grand for anybody interested in it.

Working on PWC's is a pain in the ass (super tiny work space, sore back, and torn up arms). After owning 3 PWC's and getting burned on two I would offer no more than $500 as someone stated above. That way if it's to be a costly repair you can simply relist it for the $500 and be done with it.

Unless you can get it fired up easily on site, I would personally pass.

I agree phaux inboard outboards are a bitch too. I'm finishing my first bellows job and it was a hassle. Learned a lot though
