Gap would have been worthless for you any way. Any negative equity would not have been covered by gap.

Rolling in negative equity has nothing to do with affordability, moreso with lthe lack of up-front cash. You could roll $5k of equity in on a $10k Prius, and still be in the hole in a situation like this.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

I always tell them, the payment doesn't matter, get me the price I want and the math will always work itself out.
I also already know exactly what I want and what I'm willing to pay before I even go to the dealer, typically I've done enough research that I know more than the salesman.
The guy himself is a homosexuals dream, so I can only imagine his wife is smoking hot too...
