School Districts are the worst when it comes to contributing to health care premiums. I really don't think it's a money issue, I worked at Plano ISD, and seen them waste more money than all of our incomes combined.sigpic

Yep. Was on a PPO and was forced to go to an HMO after we were told the HMO program doubled in price per paycheck. We had many GP's in our town, but now the closest one is 15 miles away. My son needed glasses and our vision has now been wittled down to optometrists in Wal-Mart and Target. Went to see one of these clowns and they said my nine year old needed reading glasses. Tried to put blame on my wife for not getting him in earlier. Paid to have his eyes checked by an ophthalmologist and he confirmed the guy was a clown.Originally posted by slow99 View PostThey're all getting shittier - thanks obama.

I'm on our "premium" plan, which has $25 PCP co-pay, $45 Specialist, $100 ER and $50 Urgent Care. Scripts are $10/30/50. Individual deductible is like $1500, family is like $3-$4k. Co-Insurance in network is 80/20. Out of network is 60/40.
I pay $534.87 a month for family coverage.
Our premiums stayed the same the last 2 years but the deductible has gone up (was $1k) and co-pays (was $20 for PCP and Specialist). Also co-insurance was 90/10 in and 70/30 out.
Oh, and another $63.16 a month for shitty vision and dental.

Sounds like the exact same plan for me, except our $35 specliast and $200 ER.

I should have mentioned on mine that the normal annual check-up / physical is free as well. The PCP copays are only for illness, med checks, etc.Originally posted by 32vfromhell View PostI pay $53 and change for my health, dental, and vision coverage every 2 weeks.
Like 5k deductable , but i get 1500 a year in a HRA and 10% co-pays and free preventative care checkups.
Plus, they pay for my gym membership, and have a gym on site available 24/7.

My current company plan isn't bad. I pay about $120/mo for just me. I am on the top tier plan. There is a cheaper option but I opt to pay a bit more in case of another back surgery. We are self funded though, we use the united health group but all claims are paid internally.
When I was with Cavender's Boot City. It was some of the best insurance I have seen. That comment was even made by my back specialist. They ended up completely covering my back surgery. I think my premium was $4x.xx per check (every two weeks)
