With all that being said... Fuck Apple. I'm forced to use an Iphone for work and I fucking hate it.

I built a desktop 8+ years ago now. It was a simple, core duo machine that had XP Pro installed on it. Over the years I upgraded the video card, added more hard drives, etc. Eventually I moved it to Windows 8. It's still in service in my kid's room, and I will probably install Windows 10 on it. The machine will go well past 10 years, and it's done everything asked of it from Microsoft Office to photo and video editing, etc. The only problems I've had out of it were 2 hard drives went down (refurbs from Seagate that were used as backups). Add it all up, and I still haven't spent what a Macbook costs, and the machine will still do everything the OP asked for.Originally posted by Chopped54 View Post$900 on an Air and in a few years you may lose a couple of hundred.
$900 on a Windows based machine and few in a few years you may be able to get a couple of hundred.

They each have their place. Reliability, consistency, and function for me OSX wins all day long. In most workplaces it will never replace Windows.

You've clearly never used OSX before, or just don't know quality when you see it!Originally posted by juiceweezl View PostI built a desktop 8+ years ago now. You brand fanboys make me laugh, I could careless who makes it, Chevy vs Ford, Apple vs Everyone, iPhone vs Android. I give credit where credit is due. I went through 3 XPS13's in a month before I got the Macbookpro, I think the surface pro 3 is badass, I like the lenovo yoga stuff too, but nothing on the market fit the needs that my shitty mac does.Originally posted by Magnus View PostNo matter what link I provide, it won't have an apple logo, so the "build quality" will suck, and won't get the credit it deserves.Interested in being a VIP member and donating to the site? I have a Sony Vaio in my closet that I bought in '97. It will still power up and run fine. Doesn't make it any less of a turd.....Originally posted by juiceweezl View PostI built a desktop 8+ years ago now. It was a simple, core duo machine that had XP Pro installed on it.
