It does... All I know is that in all the years I've known him, my bullshit detector never got above yellow...

I've led a semi-unsheltered life... I've been exposed to a fair amount of underworld, so when I encounter somebody who has been exposed to a lot of underworld, I don't take it as pure fantasy. I accept the fact that underworld exists, and someone out there has actually lived it and might be willing to tell stories about it.

In my underworld experience, I've also encountered PLENTY of bullshitters... I don't take everything everybody says as truth... In fact, I typically DISTRUST everybody I meet until I can kinda logically vet them out in my own mind.

But stories he's told on here are exactly the same as they were told to me almost 20yrs ago... And I don't want that to come off as saying all of our conversations were him recounting wild stories. Quite the contrary. Our conversations were/are typically vanilla techie geek stuff about cars and shit. But, everybody likes to recount funny/interesting incidents...

After he became the new forum tag punching bag and deemed the most interesting man in the world, I actually went back and did some records searching on a story that he told me back in the late 90's. I was starting to doubt my judge of character and the calibration on my bullshit meter due to the overwhelming forum distrust.

I quickly found substantiating evidence of his claims that satisfied my original trust in him and left it at that.

Once somebody is in my circle of trust, they're in for good unless they violate that trust. So I'm not going to say that I know with 100% certainty that everything he has ever stated on this board is 100% true. But that holds true for everybody else on this forum that I consider a friend or even my own family members.

I actually felt bad for going back and vetting him through public records searches, but the board had me second guessing myself

I have said multiple times that anybody who is offered lunch by Bill should take him up on it. He is a really interesting dude, he's not going to murder you and wear your skin like a robe, and you'll much better understand his posting style after you talk with him in person and see how is mind works during real time conversation.

On that note, I need to get up there and grab lunch with you some time Bill, it's been WAY too long!

It's the internet, so of course I take everything I read with a bit of skepticism right off the bat. I have just gotten into that decision mode in my mind on if you are full of shit, just fucking with us, or the real deal. Still deciding..

At least write that shit down in a journal or something , if it's all true.

A journal is hard evidence and I would not want something like that laying around. Some of what I have done is so off the wall that I do not even bother to post it because I know how it will be received. My buddy in prison sometimes tells stories about me and people think he is full of it and it cracks him up.

I've told you guys multiple times that I've known him for close to 20yrs and have no reason to disbelieve anything he's ever said to me.

I have absolutely nothing to gain from that statement. I haven't spoken with him on the phone in probably 7-8yrs. Our only communication is maybe a brief text conversation every year or two. Back in the late 90's we were in touch more frequently and in person... having a real job and relocating has stifled that considerably.

Honestly, I don't know why he wastes his time with this place, but he has been around for a long time, and this place kinda sucks you in... and it's lonely at the top. I don't just mean financially in his case. If you're an intelligent person, you tend to be short on company...

Despite much of the ass-hattery that goes on on this forum, it's a bit of an anomaly in that even the biggest dunce on this place is still probably more intelligent than 95% of the people you'll encounter on the average day in the average city.

So if a guy is bored, this place is great because even if there's drama/arguments/shit talking/etc, it's typically done in a fairly intelligent manner with decent grammar and fairly decent argument strategies.

I really have always thought this myself. there are some valuable opinions and experience on life, in general, on this board.

It comes with age. We are getting old.

That is why I am here; I am bored to smithereens. Hell, I have practically adopted my friends daughter and I spoil her rotten and that still isn't enough to keep my mind occupied. I talk to people all day long and find that most people have a very shallow thought process. Most of you guys can think beyond your smart phone and I thank you for it.

I have no idea how any of that works so I will defer to your judgement.

I was not there and can only relay what I was told by others. The PD's detective asked me if I knew anything about where the Calico came from so I know that they found it but they kept that detail to themselves for one reason or another. They may not have known that it was full auto without test firing it. For all I know the PD may still have it and still not know.
