Usually these stories have something like 65 shots fired 2 hit the suspect.

The problem we will see in this case is the actual charge. He was charged with 1st degree murder, which means it was premeditated. They will have no way of proving premeditation. So it will be a mistrial.

Won't be a "mistrial". They won't be able to prove all the elements of the case, thus the jury will have to give a "not guilty" verdict. And depending on Illinois law, that may be the end of it. They may not allow a conviction on lesser charges. Don't think politics isn't in play on this whole thing. It's freakin Chicago after all.
Will probably end up in Fed court after that if not convicted.
