This is about right, as if you beat the bushes you can usually find a dealer that will sell any GM car for just under employee pricing. That may change as interest rates go up over the next year or two.Originally posted by racrguyWhat's your beef with NPR, because their listeners are typically more informed than others?Originally posted by racrguyVoting is a constitutional right, overthrowing the government isn't.

If only we had the GM of a Chevrolet dealership on this board...

Typically when they first release a new body style it won't be allowed for the first year or two, after that it is fair game.Originally posted by John -- '02 HAWK View PostAren't vettes not eligible for employee pricing?Originally posted by racrguyWhat's your beef with NPR, because their listeners are typically more informed than others?Originally posted by racrguyVoting is a constitutional right, overthrowing the government isn't.

I'm hoping it does so I can get oneOriginally posted by slingshot View PostMay come to pass, but right now the used ones are ridiculous. Find a dealer that will actually discount heavily like MacCulkin or Kerbeck and it is a much better deal. Example: you can get into a base 1LT manual new for $52.5K... a 2014 (2 yrs old!) with 5k miles on it will sell for $48-50K. . I picked up the 06 vette I had in 08 right around half msrp with 20k miles on it. . I picked up the 06 vette I had in 08 right around half msrp with 20k miles on it.

It may not for the first year or two, but after that, it's fair game when Ford makes too many of them which will happen. Ford has already gone on record stating it's not a limited production vehicle.Originally posted by A_A_G View PostWhy not a GT350 for the same amount of money? It's not going to depreciate like a new Vette.

So, get a nice discount now (if you look around) on a new Stingray or pay at least MSRP on a GT350. I think the net depreciation is going to be similar over a 3-5 year period.Ford

This is no BS - one of my best friends lives out in VZ County, and he is friends with the old man's son. Like his radio commercials used to say, he really will meet you in the middle of the night if he knows you are coming.Originally posted by quikag View PostI don't know if he's still doing his thing, but Henry Lewis of Lewis Chevrolet in Canton made getting my previous '08 LS3 Vette one of the easiest ordering and buying experiences I've ever had. He's old school and quotes his best price right off the bat.

He's a character too, very unassuming but hugely rich as he owns half of the flea market out there and half of Van Zandt county.

I was down visiting Dave months back and we stopped in there, it's kind of crazy seeing this little rinky-dink country dealership with a long line of Corvettes out front. They also have what they refer to as their own Corvette museum out back....family owned collection just sitting inside an old tin building full of dust. A lot of 70's era cars, some even with 70's era themes/mods, but also a few mid years and earlier cars too.

Nevertheless, if I was looking to buy a brand new Corvette, he'd probably be the first guy I'd call.70' Chevelle RagTop

Even if the production isn't limited, you aren't going to see one at every corner like an Ecoboost Mustang. Shelby/SVT models have always been low production.Originally posted by quikag View PostIt may not for the first year or two, but after that, it's fair game when Ford makes too many of them which will happen. I can't see the baddest Mustang produced to date depreciating at the same rate as a base model Stingray, sorry. I guess we'll find out.

That's what the ad jingle used to say back in the day about Lewis Chevrolet.

I always wanted to call him on it
