Can you locate old accident information?

I was going to buy a car and autocheck says car vs tree on the right side. That's all the info it lists but gives claim number and said it was towed... This happened in 2005. It just got me thinking for future purchases if I can somehow find out what was fixed on cars that have been in accidents.
