They put signs up on the front door, but they are too small. They neglected all the other entrances.
A couple guys at this office carry, and I know some of the other location's managers do as well. I was told that I should (despite the handbook) several years back by my now bosses boss, so I feel like I wont lose my job if there is an issue, but id rather not find out.
They posted legal size signs here .06 and .07 on the customer entrance only. I know that several higher ups (use to?) carry on a regular basis.
I saw a gun shop a while back with a big sign by the front door. It intrigued me so I drove a little closer.
The big no carry sign was on the right of the front door. On the left of the door was a sign that read "If you support the sign to the right.... you're a MORON.... we dont sell guns to morons....please dont have a nice day"
Both 30.06 and 30.07. They would ban them in the parking lot too if Texas allowed it, and there is no other public parking nearby. Thing is, every door to get in requires an electronic access card so the only way you are getting in is by working here, or being escorted, and it was already against policy for employees to carry. Why post signs and make us a bigger target? Corporate America just doesn't think things like this through. You guys who can carry at work are very lucky. Those employers seem to be hard to find.
I've got too much corporate nonsense at mine. Heck, they fired a guy once because he was showing another employee in his car what he bought the previous day (a 3rd person walked by, saw it and reported it). Which started the afore mentioned ban attempt that I stepped into.
We're good here. A fair amount of people carry in the office, but it is against company policy. Our office manager as pretty much adopted a don't ask don't tell regarding carry at work.
My previous employer has the correct 30.07 signs in their storage room but the only thing on the building is a small plastic one on the front door in English with a crossed out gun.
My current employer could care less. My office is in a Chase bank building with no signs.
