Yeah, I wasn't that high speed.. I would get 100 on sit-ups but stayed in the 80's for the run and push-ups..

Remember that. Train at +25%, then max seems easy.Originally posted by Probie View PostI have to test above 80% in each event.
I really just need to be maxing it every time

One of my buddies ran at that pace.. That's just ridiculous to me, lol. Under 7 minutes per mile was plenty for me.Originally posted by davbrucas View PostYou're in for some of the most difficult days of your life...but, if you make it through, you will be better than all these chumps on here. JK.
Thanks for the commitment to our country. [emoji106]
Craig, my best time in the 2mi was 10:31. When I ran that I got lapped by a kid from Alaska. [emoji15]
I could hit low 6 minute range on the first mile but would then fall on my face on the second. I actually ran the 2 mile slower doing that. Learning to try and keep the same pace the entire run helped me a lot.
As long as I was comfortably above the 60 point mark I was happy (that was like 16 min when I was in). I knew I wasn't staying in for a career, and promotion points for E5 were almost always maxed for my MOS.

No, I didn't. I got to Airborne school and freaked. I couldn't do it so I got sent to Camp Greaves as punishment for dropping out. I have my CIB though so there's that. I will tell you that getting your blue cord and crossed rifles will be the happiest day of your life.Originally posted by Probie View PostIf you don't mind me asking about it, did you make it?
Until you get your short tab.

Sounds like me lolOriginally posted by Chili View PostSolid.. My first 2 mile in basic, which was also the first time I ever ran 2 miles straight (well, I walked some), was like 20 min.. It took me 4 months to get it down to the 13's, but most of that was actually in AIT. We ran a lot more there than in basic.
.
I was in Ft Jackson and tank hill was no joke

Keep it up troop. My best was 13:43. It was the only time I really gave a damn about my time because I was trying to max the PT test and force my promotion to Sgt.Originally posted by Probie View Post22
I've gotten my 2 mile time down to 14:45 from the 17 it started at lol. Gonna run my 5 mile this weekend
But with those kinds of times, you'll find that PT is MUCH easier in Basic. The hard part is the head games they'll play. Just remember this, if they ask for a volunteer, BE THE FIRST to volunteer. More than 50% of the time, they'll pick someone else to do it.. haha..

Airborne school will run your ass off, in a big way, from what I understand. At least back when I was in, they double-timed everywhere. Pretty much no walking occurred outside.
