Just 87 octane, I did make a run to S.A. last year and we had 4 ppl and a trunk full of luggage, I ran 93 the entire time and my MPG did suffer, but for any other time all around driving it gets is 87.Originally posted by Craizie View PostWhat type of fuel do you use? I have the 2.0L ecoboost. When I first got it I would average 28ish MPGS. Now it's down to 23MPGS and I've not changed anything.
Mine is at 80k miles and I just did plugs, oil (full Syn), oil/air filter and some Lucas FI cleaner. It was getting a steady 32/35 mpg to Austin and the hill country...Originally posted by SilverbackLook all you want, she can't find anyone else who treats her as bad as I do, and I keep her self esteem so low, she wouldn't think twice about going anywhere else.

He's right, plugs on those EB motors can get soot'd pretty good. I would stay on top of the factory air filters too, that turbo eats a lot of air.Originally posted by A_A_G View PostHow many miles do you have? Have you changed the plugs?
My son's ST with the 2.0 EB, he did the plugs at 30k miles and they looked pretty sad. He probably could have cleaned them and re-installed but I think he went with a colder NGK plug.Originally posted by SilverbackLook all you want, she can't find anyone else who treats her as bad as I do, and I keep her self esteem so low, she wouldn't think twice about going anywhere else.

I drive so little I would run out the warranty by date long before mileage, so I don't really care about fuel economy. Which is the downside; I have a mental block about spending money on a car. I think about it every 6 months or so. But my 2003 Mercury now needs the headlight safety recall and no one seems to have the part to fix it, so it makes it a bitch to drive at night. Plus the suspension leaks and the stereo hasn't worked in a few years. I think it may be getting time to have it put down for quality of life reasons.

That's what I intend, maybe not that old.Originally posted by BLAKE View PostYou sound like a good candidate for some middle ground: 2-3 year old CPO.
I noticed the BMW 7-series really dropped in value fast, and I like the ergonomics, but I heard from multiple people that they are expensive rolling disasters which is why they drop so fast.

Any turbo or SC car is going to foul plugs faster than NA, because they require more fuel, but I know that turbo cars are notorious for fouling plugs.Originally posted by Bassics View PostIs it because of all the alky in the gas these days?
