Sexual assault in Texas wouldn't just be getting grabbed I would assume it's that same way elsewhere...
-
Where does that article make mention of rape, much less gang rape?
It says she was sexually assaulted (probably got her t&a grabbed) and it's turned into this?
She was surrounded and suffered a brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating before being saved

This. She wasn't forced to. She wanted to get promoted faster and the visiblity. I would bet she volunteered for the assignment. I bet there were alot of male seasoned reporters who were not allowed the opportunity. It's how the corporate world works.Originally posted by Vertnut View PostI'm sure there were options on who to send there. She has a small child, and there were probably better-suited veterans that would have gone. I'm betting she wanted that assignment to further her career and visibility/exposure. If they "forced" her to go into that situation, they could expose themselves to big-time lawsuits.

She probably was given the option and jumped at the chance.
Amanpour (sp) got the shit scared out her while over there. That bunch isn't too damn picky when it comes to a good ol' rapin'. Have you seen the women they're choosing from?

Umm nevermind on that promotion, I'll pass? Then BAM you're fired!

Reporters are fucking stupid to begin with
"Im going to go to Egypt and stand in a group of 100,000 angry people so you guys can see it on film".
"what, is it safe?? Im sure it is...they are peacefully angry"
Those dumb women who went to communist Korea deserve what happened. They knew full well they were not wanted in the communist country.

I agree, for the most part. I have ABSOLUTELY no sympathy for women (like that mexican sportscaster) who invite sexual harassment by putting themselves in testosterone-filled environments, dressed for a one-night stand.Originally posted by Vertnut View PostCute little girls have no business in 1)third-world countries under seige, 2) foxholes, and 3) mens' locker rooms. That's man-shit, and NOT for women.
I have raised 2 daughters, I have 2 sister's, I have a wife, a mom, a grand-daughter, and 2 dogs that are female. See a pattern? I know a little about the female persuasion, and none of them belong in the above situations.
That being said, I wouldn't say that Christiane Amanpour has no place in war-zones. But she's not a soft-spoken Barbie, either.

She probley fought to be there and in the middle of the action. Most likely discouarged by the voices of reason in her life.Originally posted by Blakeski View PostWell lets put it into perspective, she has a job already, her boss comes up and says, "hey, would you like a promotion?" she replies with "yes of course!" boss says "ok you're going to Egypt!" what do you say? I love women (you saw my list of the ones in my life), but I am also a realist when it comes to shit like that. They should have some of the rights, but it may not be smart to exercise those rights all the time.
