3 suspects have been taken into custody, one suspect is dead after police used a bomb robot to kill him
The suspect killed by Dallas Police has been identified as Micah Johnson, according to CBS News.
CNN reports that this is the deadliest attack on police since 9/11 in which 72 officers died.
Officials call this a sniper attack and say semi-automatic rifles were used
Obama has called the attack was “vicious, calculated and despicable.”
Dallas Police Chief David Brown calls the shooting “cowardly,” adds the shooter was upset over the recent police shootings of black men and wanted to kill white people.

DALLAS — The dead gunman in the Dallas ambush that left five officers dead has been identified as 25-year-old Micah Xavier Johnson of Mesquite, Texas, law enforcement sources familiar with the investigation told CNN.

Johnson had no criminal record or known terror ties, a law enforcement official said.

This is the scene where the suspect swung around the pillars to kill the police officer. It looks like he was taking fire from officers at the end of the street before turning to fight the officers behind him. The black tahoe is the suspects vehicle
