Non-dealers flipping diesels?

I bought what I thought to be a clean '07 F250 lariat with under 100k a year ago and couldn't even get the fucking thing home from burleson. Motor was junk and luckily the dealer took it back. But wouldn't come down 2k on a cummins that I liked even after selling me a pile of junk. Finally said to hell with it and bought a new F150.

I test drove an '08 cummins at another dealer and thought the whole front end was going to fall out from under the truck between 40-65, couldn't believe they were trying to sell it like that.

As a dealer, I can tell you that there are some shady mother fuckers out there. The truth about the majority of them though, they just get their shit from the auction and put it directly on the lot. They don't drive em or look em over.

there are a myriad of reasons that GM Heavy Duty trucks are steaming piles of shit, but you can't convince someone who has only sat one one or two of them that their papaw ran up and down the roads of Oklahoma for a whopping 150k miles.

Hop in about ten a week of each make, and hollar at me when you figure out that those trucks are fucking trash compared to a Ford!

Yeah, the OBS trucks are just stupid expensive now. I've owned several of them over the years, and I'd go for another one if it was the right price/miles...but it isn't likely I'll come across that combo. I've been shopping the 99-03's more-so lately, and they are pricey for the clean lower mileage ones now too.

I'd love to have something like this, but it's way over-priced, a lonnng ways away, and awfully close to salt water....

Surprised it doesn't have any bids yet, but I'll bet it goes a bit over $20K. That low of mileage is about unheard of on an OBS these days.

I can't speak to the diesels, but my 1/2 ton has been flawless. 2012, bought it with 23k on it, sitting at 85k now, and the only time it's been in the shop was over a road hazard deal, and not a manufacturing issue. My father has well over 150k on his 2012, and it's never been in the shop. He loves his as well. The newest generation seem to be very well built.

I'm looking to get a 3/4 ton diesel, and haven't looked at the Dodge 3/4 ton due to your comments on them. It's a shame, because I really, really love my current Ram.

Right. That's why I went with a new F150. Killed me, I loved that 250, it was exactly what I was looking for. Lariat, crew cab, 4x4, low miles and a price I could live with. Ugh.

Crazy thing happened to me...I was actually inquiring on a 6.7 truck, and it turns out the old guy had this hiding in the garage. I can't believe it, but I was actually able to make a deal with him on it instead!






I haven't seen one this clean in the past 10 years...it is literally like brand new on the inside. Garaged since new, all the service records, and even the original window sticker. I just can't get the OBS trucks out of my system!
