I read that it's coming to two stores in Denton. My wife will be all over that.

The Kroger in Rockwall on a Sunday night (8:30 - 9:30) is a pleasure. I can go in with my 8.5x11 grocery list and come out with a $200 receipt in under 45 minutes.
You guys need to plan ahead (make a list and stick to it) and learn the store layout and a few employees names. It'll save you time and money.G'Day Mate

For the most part, I know exactly what I want/need, so it doesn't matter if I grab it or they grab it, except for the time saved on my end.Originally posted by The King View PostI would rather pick out my own selections than have a store employee do so. That being said, time does go by slowly in a grocery store (my fave is Tom Thumb).
We typically make the trip to the grocery store 1-2 times per month, and when we do, it's an all day thing. 2 hours of driving, and then 3-4 hours in the store on average. We usually come out with 3 carts, sometimes 4. It's a beating.

Ya, I order all of my meat online (elk, bison, bear, boar, etc), except for chicken and fish, which we have a ton of in the freezer already. We don't buy much produce from that store, because much of it will literally go bad on the way up the mountain. I guess it has something to do with the altitude. For example, we can buy bananas that are slightly green, and they will be brown when we get to our house, just an hour later. We do have a place in town that has some produce, and it kinda sucks, too. We just make do with what we can get. We could always grab our own produce at the store, which would only take us a few minutes, and then let them have everything else ready.Originally posted by The King View PostMy reason for liking to pick out my own is that buy 90% or so of my groceries from around the perimeter of the store, where being able to see what I'm buying is important. Packaged items wouldn't matter, but items like produce and meat do.
Unfortunately, they don't offer that click list thing for City Market, from what I could find. I've been meaning to check into getting stuff from Amazon, but just haven't done it yet.
