OK, cool. Tallil was the last base I was on (about 18 months). She'll be in a nice location. That's where I posted those pictures of the Ziggurat and the city of Ur. She'll see the temple from where she'll be. They might even hold tours through the base's chapel. Tallil will be one of the five enduring bases, so she'll be at a place that will keep their supplies and support strong. We're not getting crap here and they're taking everything that's worth a shit away from us.

Our base isn't getting jack either, they're shutting this joint down.

from what i remember this is her second time back to Tallil. i know she did some sight seeing last time but dont know where. i think she was supposed to go to another base that was going to be shut down but her squad leader wanted to rank higher; they ended up shipping out sooner because of him. ill tell her to send you some extra toilet paper when she gets there.

Is she Air Force? Let me know which base she gets to and if she needs anything when she gets there. I've got hook-ups at a few bases around here and it might help for making a new transition easier.

well we've had practice runs with him staying with me for two weeks, a month...different times my sister had to work double shifts on base. he would be really sad for the first 3 days and then settle in. he always asks where his mom is at and i tell him shes working. he knows that she works in ft hood but not in dallas. we did not tell him that she was going over seas. as far as he knows mommy is at home working a lot. he's holding his own. we've bonded pretty well so hes not feeling that scared about the situation.


i tell you its a great experience for me. im doing things with him that i missed out with my son due to visitation rights when he was younger.

update: my sister just texted me. its 8:00am in kuwait. appearently my EVO is the only phone she texted, out of all her friends, that is recieving her texts. lol.

QFT... DOHA is dirty and nasty in my opinion, but I only got out in the town a couple of times and did the typical shit too. Some stuff was great and then other areas were shit.

Al Udeid is the biggest and baddest air base in the middle east... so fucking busy it sucks dick if you're a mechanic there...

Thanks everyone, she made it to Ireland, waiting to head out to Kuwait. we've been prepping my 4 year old nephew for this for a while. he knows that mommy is going to work for a while with the soldiers. he always asks me "to get the bad guys?" I tell him yes and he says, "cool."
