A 21-year-old man from Parker is accused of stealing a car shortly after being released from a Minnesota county jail and driving it to a parole meeting.

According to Sioux Falls Police Lt. Kyle Hoekstra, Ashton White Olesen was released from the Pipestone County Jail on Monday. He said White Olesen stole a vehicle that was left running and drove to Sioux Falls for a meeting with his parole officer.

At around 2:30 p.m., officers were called to the parole services building in Sioux Falls where White Olesen was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle.

Pipestone County Jail officials said White Olesen was being held on disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice charges.
