Nice original paint > new paint any day, especially as far as value is concerned.Originally posted by 4king View PostIf a fox is over 15k it better have a coyote swap or ls swap and a new paint job

That is a clean car and I think your offer is about right. His ad makes me a little skeptical by saying it was built for 1,000+ rwhp though. Those parts won't make that kind of power. Maybe he is just referring to the durability of the short block?Originally posted by racrguyWhat's your beef with NPR, because their listeners are typically more informed than others?Originally posted by racrguyVoting is a constitutional right, overthrowing the government isn't.

Any time I read an ad for a Mustang and I read LS swap I just stop reading and go to the next one.Originally posted by 4king View PostIf a fox is over 15k it better have a coyote swap or ls swap and a new paint job

I tell you what, this world is full of lying piece of shits. The guy swears it's all original paint, 60k miles, CARFAX verified, etc. We go back and fourth all day today, I call the shop that built it, talk to him for over an hour, and seem pretty confident in the car. Mind you this guy makes it out to sound like he built the car in his ad and through emails, but the shop tells me the guy selling it is the 3rd or 4th owner since being built. This raises red flags, but the shop seemed legit, has good reviews, and did tell me it was just in being tuned and looked over so I feel pretty good so I'm ok pending my inspection. I was planning on flying out this weekend to look at it and the shop was going to do a compression test while I was there, and then throw it on the dyno. Tonight I'm ready to send a deposit and guess what, the car had 105k in 2004 and was in a wreck in 2005. Now he says he never ran a CARFAX and had no idea. Who the hell buys a car now days with running a history report. So the 60k mile no wreck car actually has 160k and has been in a wreck. God only knows what else he's hiding. I though by upping the budget I could find a more quality car. Instead all you get is bigger lies.www.cowlgaugeconcepts.com and on Facebook

To tell you the truth I'm only casually looking and this one just happened to catch my eye and I did really like it. The worst thing about it is that I don't give a damn that it has 160k or that it's been in a wreck. As long as it looks good and makes good power, I'm good. Obviously I wouldn't pay 18k like we finally settled on, but maybe 15k if it looked good in person and put down those #'s. With everything I found out who knows what internals it has. That's likely all lies too. I'm just glad I found this out now before I flew out there or worse yet, after I bought it.Originally posted by HarrisonTX View Postbummer man. Gunna get hard to find anything that hasn't been wrecked these days. But yeah 3rd or 4th owner since built is not a good sign.
Plus the rest of the shit is basic stuff besides the short block. You'll find something better at the same price point imho

In light of new findings, offer him $10k. Spend the $5-7k you save on making it perfect for you (paint, suspension, etc). Of course, only as long as previous bodywork and repairs were done well enough not to cost you money fixing shitty work.Originally posted by 93coupett View PostI tell you what, this world is full of lying piece of shits. He says no paint work other than Cobra body kit and to be fair the wreck shows to be minor. He said it was just the bumper, but I'd rather that and the mileage be disclosed rather than me find out the way I did. My coupe also really only has 60k miles and we re-did the interior so I didn't think to much of it. Hindsight though, there were red flags and I'm glad I found out the info I did last night rather than this weekend. I just can't believe he didn't think I would find out. No wonder he didn't send the VIN when I first asked for it.Originally posted by snacksnack View PostNo offense but once i read original paint and cobra body kit the bs flags were flying high. Not to mention why the interior needed redone from bottom to top.
Anyway.. Still possibly looking for a clean fox or 03 Cobra if anyone finds one.www.cowlgaugeconcepts.com and on Facebook
