I give 20 over on freeways, 15 on city surface streets, and 10 in school zones.
And I can write plenty.
There is no reason to write for under 10 over, unless it's a school zone, IMHO.
Writing tickets should have an emphasis on safety, not pulling in $$$$$.
The thing that irks me is the red light cameras. You won't see any in poor areas, because people don't title cars, or if they do, they won't pay the tickets so putting a camera up on those areas is counter productive.
But they will sure as hell put up cameras in middle class or affluent areas!

I wished every other officer thought like you... I shouldn't have to worry about doing 70 mph on 114 when going home every day. 60 mph is too damn slow for hwy speeds.Originally posted by 03trubluGT View PostThere is no reason to write for under 10 over, unless it's a school zone, IMHO.

I passed a State Trooper doing 85 in a 55 yesterday, and he didnt even blink. You have to be doing something REALLY fucking stupid to get a ticket here, now NY State, thats a different story.Originally posted by 03trubluGT View PostI give 20 over on freeways, 15 on city surface streets, and 10 in school zones.
