Try living in a town with exactly one restaurant for the majority of the year, and it's crappy bar food. They don't even have a fryer, so it's all just frozen stuff grilled or baked. We have 5-6 spots open during the summer months, and most are decent, but small menus, and eating the same stuff gets old. The next closest restaurant outside of this town is an hour away in either direction. It's really the only thing I don't like about Lake City.Originally posted by Sgt Beavis View PostI'm still looking for decent BBQ. We have a Rudy's up on Ft Collins but that is a half hour drive. No good donuts either. Erie, CO is a damn dead zone for dining. The redeemer is Beer. Glorious microbrew beer all over the damn place. Pizza is pretty good too.
Just looked it up. That place looks nuts!Originally posted by AnthonyS View PostNo good Mexican food, but you need to experience casa bonita at least once.... probably just once. I shall never go back.

I thoroughly enjoyed the long weekend I spent there and the views up and down Sandia. Found some good eats in town too. Would definitely visit again but not sure I could live there.Originally posted by ram57ta View PostAfter hearing what some of you are paying for apartments I don't feel quite so bad about the 1200 I'm paying to RENT my 1500 Sq ft 3bed, 2.5bath, 2car garage house with a view of the Sandia mountains (hardly a mountain range).

We went to Tacos Jalisco's in South East Denver, it is pretty good. They also have a Torchys now, you know they rock.Originally posted by SilverbackLook all you want, she can't find anyone else who treats her as bad as I do, and I keep her self esteem so low, she wouldn't think twice about going anywhere else.

wait, theres already a wall?Originally posted by BP View PostIf I walk to the upstairs patio at my sisters I can see Tijuana (which is mountainous), the border wall and the ocean. 46 miles of it between San Diego and Tijuana. Most of the border between here and El Paso is fenced and you could walk over it in many places. It runs right through Glamis which has massive sand dunes that tend to move around with the wind.Originally posted by naynay View Postwait, theres already a wall?

These mid to upper level management people have not been able to retire in the past ten years because of depressed interest rates. If rates ever get back up to a reasonable level these people can exist on a fixed income thrown off by their 401k and they will retire. These idiots are depressing wages.Originally posted by naynay View Postthe shitty thing about that, is you now have mostly 50-60 year olds in the upper management position that still wanna tell you about how they got by when they were your age. like 60k sounds great on paper, until i run the numbers and spent $10,000 of it going back and forth to work.
or even the cost of a house. someone show me the quintessential starter home for $90k in the late 70s/ early 80s and tell me where to buy another today. i'll wait.
you know that guy "the king" and ss junk etc that follow me around here.
this article was written about those people.

Do they still have the cliff diving?Originally posted by SS Junk View PostGreat fun for kids. At one time their sopapillas were good.
We went in the mid 70's with my folks, great fun when you are a kid. Then again a few times after we got our drivers license and we'd drive to Denver to go to Elitch Gardens, then stop there before heading home.

I don't follow you around*, but fuck man how in the hell are you spending almost $200.00 on fuel per week? You're not doing it right, son! You need to smarter with your money, my wife drives 56 miles each way and she only spends $30.00 every 7-10 days...Originally posted by naynay View Postlike 60k sounds great on paper, until i run the numbers and spent $10,000 of it going back and forth to work.

Champagne tastes on a beer budget maybe? Our janitor at work drives an E350 that is a few years old. I have been tempted to ask him the story on that. We all know how this goes.Originally posted by Rick Modena View PostI don't follow you around*, but fuck man how in the hell are you spending almost $200.00 on fuel per week? A maintenance man at my work drives a 2014 BMW M6. He's retired and i guess does it just to stay busy. Or blew a big chunk of his retirement on a BMW.Originally posted by Broncojohnny View PostChampagne tastes on a beer budget maybe? Our janitor at work drives an E350 that is a few years old. This guy runs up to them and says, "Hey, the world's coming to an end!" and the first one says, "Well, I best go to the mission and pray," and the second one says, "Well, hell, I'm gonna go and buy me a case of Mezcal and six whores," and the third one says "Well, I'm gonna finish the game." I shall finish the game, Doc.

Always a possibility but this guy is about 30 years old. You never know in that part of town, he could be a trust fund kid. Unlikely but possible. I work with a kid who will inherit a couple hundred million some day, he works just like anyone else.Originally posted by DieselSmoke View PostA maintenance man at my work drives a 2014 BMW M6.
