    That will never happen.

Paternity tests should be mandatory at birth for those married and single. If the child turns out to not be the assumed father's, they have right to a speedy divorce (no cooling off period), and everything stops then and there. If the man chooses to stay with the mother, then they are held responsible financially from that point on.

It should also be mandatory that if a DNA test confirms the paternity, that the hospital/mother must recognize the father on the birth certificate.

He should dump her for sure. But its his choice and if he doesn't, why not go after the real father instead? So the real dad is just off the hook? Why hang it around some other guy's neck, who did not do the deed?

Probably in prison or otherwise not useful.

He could be made to work somehow. If he's not in jail, he soon could be for not paying the child support if ordered to.

I'm still convinced that prisoners need to be in their cell a lot less. The rest of the time they should all be working to produce something that can be sold to cover the cost of their stay. To ease the burden on the taxpayers. Not slave labor, but they could work 4 ten hour days with friday, saturday and sunday off. Make 'em do a 40 hour work week like the people that are paying to feed and shelter them. They could even do overtime if they wanted, for some kind of offered incentive.
